  • 1 large Egg (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 cups Oil (for frying, vegetable oil recommended)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded pepper jack cheese and diced jalapeños. Stir until they’re evenly blended.
  2. Shape the cheese mixture into balls about 1½ inches in diameter. Freeze for 30-60 minutes.
  3. In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F.
  4. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with a beaten mixture of egg and milk, and the last with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  5. Roll each ball first in flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry the bites in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
