- 1 cup Pepper Jack Cheese (shredded)
- 2 tablespoons Jalapeños (diced)
- 1 cup Flour
- 1 large Egg (beaten)
- 2 tablespoons Milk
- 1 cup Bread Crumbs (panko preferred)
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 cups Oil (for frying, vegetable oil recommended)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded pepper jack cheese and diced jalapeños. Stir until they’re evenly blended.
- Shape the cheese mixture into balls about 1½ inches in diameter. Freeze for 30-60 minutes.
- In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F.
- Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with a beaten mixture of egg and milk, and the last with seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Roll each ball first in flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the bites in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
