  • ½ cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  3. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire pan.
  4. Make the caramel layer
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
  6. Stir constantly until it starts to boil.

  8. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla (optional).
