- 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 tbsp flour (for dusting)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 225 g cream cheese (softened)
- ⅓ cup (65 g) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 medium apples (peeled, thinly sliced)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling.
- In a pan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Add sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly softened.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Make the Cheesecake Layer.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add vanilla and egg yolk and mix until creamy.
- Assemble the Base.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly flour your surface and roll out 1 sheet puff pastry.
- Place it in a 9×9 inch baking dish or tray.
- Spread the cheesecake filling evenly.
- Add Apple Layer.
- Spoon the cooked apples over the cheesecake layer.
- Spread evenly without pressing too hard.
- Top Layer.
- Roll out the second puff pastry sheet.
- Place it over the apples.
- Seal edges gently.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool & Glaze.
- Let bars cool for at least 15 minutes.
- Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over the top.
