Description

Ingredients

  • 250 g (8 oz) pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 bell peppers (any color, chopped)
  • 300 g (10 oz) ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) tomato sauce
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Optional but recommended: shredded cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the diced onion and chopped bell peppers for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Pour in the tomato sauce. Stir well, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer for 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  5. Add the cooked pasta into the skillet. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
  6. Serve warm as-is, or top with shredded cheese and let it melt before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made with ground turkey for a lighter option.
