Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for sautéing spinach)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté spinach until wilted. Let cool, then combine with feta and garlic powder.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rectangles or leave whole for larger twists.
  3. Spread spinach and feta mixture evenly over pastry, leaving borders. Be careful not to overfill.
  4. Fold the pastry and press edges gently to seal. Cut into 1-inch strips.
  5. Twist each strip and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.
