Description

Indulge in Morton’s Lobster Mac and Cheese, a creamy, restaurant-quality dish perfect for cozy dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni (or cavatappi for best sauce adherence)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (adds richness and essential for roux)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced, adjusts to taste)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for thickening)
  • 2 cups milk (whole milk for creaminess)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (substitute with half-and-half for lighter version)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (freshly grated for best melt)
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese (adds nutty flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (for depth of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (for richness)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (for flavor)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for added texture)
  • 1 cup lobster meat (fresh or thawed frozen)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni until it’s al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the flour and whisk continuously for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the milk and heavy cream while whisking. Cook for 3-5 minutes until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Lower the heat and gradually stir in the cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until fully melted, then blend in Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stir the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce, then gently fold in the sweet lobster meat.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until bubbly. Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes for a golden crust.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
