  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 tbsp milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix warmed milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In another bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and mini chocolate chips (if using).
  3. Roll and Assemble: Roll the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly, roll into a log, slice, and place in a greased baking dish.
  4. Bake the Rolls: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Allow rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes, then bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Make the Frosting: Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to desired consistency.
