- 1/2 cup heavy cream

- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes to develop flavor.
- Add crushed tomatoes and mix well with the beef.
- Pour in beef broth and add orzo. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
- Stir in heavy cream and let simmer uncovered for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
- Season with salt and pepper. Stir in fresh basil.
- Top with mozzarella if using, cover, and let melt. Serve warm.
