Description

Savor Juicy Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Flavorful Dry Rub

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Pork Tenderloin (trimmed)
  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Kosher Salt (or sea salt)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper (preferably freshly ground)
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard (or yellow mustard)

Instructions

  1. In a Ziploc bag, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  2. Pat the pork tenderloin dry using paper towels, then apply the spice rub evenly over the entire surface. Wrap it up and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, BBQ sauce, and Dijon mustard until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Fire up your grill to a medium-high heat of 425-450°F, only using half the burners to create a delightful sear.
  5. Place the pork tenderloin on the lit side of the grill and cover. Sear for about 5-6 minutes before flipping and cooking for another 4-5 minutes until nicely browned.
  6. Move the pork to the unlit side of the grill. Baste with the sauce every 2-3 minutes, cooking until a meat thermometer reads 145°F.
  7. Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and tent loosely with foil. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to retain the juices before slicing into tender pieces.
