Description
Savor Juicy Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Flavorful Dry Rub
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Pork Tenderloin (trimmed)
- 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1 tbsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder (to taste)
- 1 tbsp Kosher Salt (or sea salt)
- 1 tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper (preferably freshly ground)
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup Honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce (your favorite brand)
- 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard (or yellow mustard)
Instructions
- In a Ziploc bag, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
- Pat the pork tenderloin dry using paper towels, then apply the spice rub evenly over the entire surface. Wrap it up and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, BBQ sauce, and Dijon mustard until smooth. Set aside.
- Fire up your grill to a medium-high heat of 425-450°F, only using half the burners to create a delightful sear.
- Place the pork tenderloin on the lit side of the grill and cover. Sear for about 5-6 minutes before flipping and cooking for another 4-5 minutes until nicely browned.
- Move the pork to the unlit side of the grill. Baste with the sauce every 2-3 minutes, cooking until a meat thermometer reads 145°F.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the grill and tent loosely with foil. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to retain the juices before slicing into tender pieces.
