Description
This Gordon Ramsay creamy dill sauce is a quick and easy blender recipe perfect for salmon. It’s a cool, tangy sauce that balances rich fish with a bright herbal flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 180 g full-fat sour cream
- 60 g mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp prepared horseradish
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- Pinch white pepper
- 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl or mini-processor, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and horseradish until smooth.
- Stir in lemon juice, dill, salt, white pepper, and optional lemon zest.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve alongside or under hot salmon, or dollop over cold fish cakes.
Notes
- Use full-fat dairy for best results, as low-fat versions can split when heated.
- Finely mince both the dill stems and fronds for maximum flavor.
- Add lemon juice after blending to maintain sauce thickness.
- For a briny kick, fold in 1 Tbsp of chopped capers.
- For a lighter, greener sauce, swap half the mayonnaise for mashed avocado.
