Guilt-Free Fried Oyster Mushrooms for Crispy Comfort Delight
Ingredients

- 1 lb Oyster mushrooms
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3/4 cup Plant-based milk
- 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Hot sauce
- 1/3 cup Flour
- 1/4 cup Corn starch
- 1/4 cup Cornmeal
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Creole seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp White pepper
- 2 cups Oil
Instructions
- Lay clean oyster mushrooms on a paper towel and sprinkle with salt on both sides. Let sit for 30 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, combine plant-based milk, apple cider vinegar, and hot sauce. Stir and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, corn starch, cornmeal, oregano, creole seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black and white pepper.
- After 30 minutes, rinse mushrooms in a colander to remove salt and pat dry.
- In a deep fryer or large pan, heat oil to 370°F (187°C).
- Dip each mushroom into milk solution, then coat with flour mixture. Repeat for a second coat.
- Carefully place coated mushrooms into hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove mushrooms and drain on a paper towel.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
