- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 ¼ teaspoons pure vanilla extract

- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for icing)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk or water (for thinning icing, optional)
- Pink food coloring (gel or liquid)
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Divide dough in half, flatten into discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out chilled dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut out shapes.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes.
- Prepare icing by beating softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add pink food coloring to the icing until the desired shade is achieved.
- Once cookies are completely cool, dip the tops in the icing or spread evenly.
