Description
Sweet, spicy, and creamy Cranberry Jalapeño Dip, perfect for gatherings. Easy to prepare and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 small bunch green onions, chopped (approximately 5 onions)
- 1 to 2 jalapeños, seeded and chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounce block cream cheese, softened
- Fresh cilantro or lime zest, for optional garnish
- Crackers, tortilla chips, or crostini, for serving
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine fresh cranberries, granulated sugar, chopped green onions, seeded and chopped jalapeños, fresh cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Pulse the mixture until it is finely chopped but not puréed, aiming for a chunky salsa texture.
- Transfer the prepared cranberry salsa to a bowl. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, or ideally overnight.
- Place the 8-ounce block of cream cheese on your desired serving plate or platter. Allow it to soften at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Gently spread the cream cheese evenly across the plate, or leave it as a block for guests to spoon the salsa over.
- Spoon the chilled cranberry-jalapeño salsa over the softened cream cheese. Allow the assembled dip to rest for 5 to 10 minutes at room temperature before serving.
- Garnish the dip with additional chopped cilantro or a sprinkle of lime zest, if desired. Serve immediately with your preferred crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted baguette slices.
