Description

Easy Chinese Dumplings Recipe


Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g minced meat
  • 1 carrot
  • 170g cabbage
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 10g ginger
  • 60mL soy sauce
  • Olive oil
  • 300g wheat flour
  • 160mL water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Chop the carrot and cabbage.
  2. In a bowl, mix the meat with the vegetables, salt, and soy sauce.
  3. Combine the flour, water, and salt.
  4. Knead for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Adjust water or flour until the dough does not stick to your fingers.
  6. Dust the work surface with flour.
  7. Roll out the dough into a ‘sausage’ shape (about 3cm in diameter).
  8. Cut the ‘sausage’ into pieces about 1/2 cm thick.
  9. Dust all pieces with flour and roll out the dough with a rolling pin.
  10. Heat a non-stick pan and add a splash of oil.
  11. Add the dumplings.
  12. Add water to cover half of the dumplings.
  13. Cover and let it boil (over medium/high heat).
  14. When there is little cooking water left, remove the lid and add another splash of oil.
  15. Lower the heat slightly and wait for them to brown.

Notes

  • Adjust the filling ingredients to your taste.
  • These dumplings can be frozen for later use.
  • Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
