- 5 cups apples (peeled and sliced, about 5–6 medium)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch (lightly crushed)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare
- Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Make the Apple Filling
- In a large bowl, combine:
- Apples
- Granulated sugar & brown sugar
- Cinnamon
- Vanilla extract
- Lemon juice
- Cornstarch
- Toss until apples are well coated.
- Transfer mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly.
- Prepare the Crunch Topping
- In another bowl, mix:
- Crushed cereal
- Flour
- Brown sugar
- Cinnamon & salt
- Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbly.
- Assemble
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until:
- Apples are soft
- Topping is golden and crisp
- Cool & Serve
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
- Best served warm.
