Instructions

  1. Heat chicken broth in a medium pot over medium heat until it reaches a gentle boil.
  2. Add sliced carrots, chopped celery, and egg noodles to the pot. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until vegetables are tender and noodles are al dente.
  3. Stir in shredded chicken, salt, and black pepper. Let the soup simmer for another 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. While the soup simmers, spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  5. On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, layer the cheese and deli meat. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
