  • 1/2 cup peach nectar or peach juice

  • Optional: drop of orange food coloring
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar (sifted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Combine cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, peach nectar, and optional orange food coloring in a bowl. Mix until smooth
  3. Gently fold in chopped peaches into the batter
  4. Pour batter into a greased 9×12 or 9×13-inch baking pan
  5. Bake for 28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
  6. For the frosting: In a saucepan, combine butter, heavy cream, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium heat until butter melts and mixture thickens, about 3–5 minutes
  7. Remove from heat and stir in confectioners’ sugar until smooth
  8. Spread frosting evenly over the warm cake
