Description
Balsamic Strawberry Flatbread is a delightful treat combining sweet strawberries and savory feta on a crispy Greek yogurt crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Flour (Substitute with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.)
- 1 tsp Baking Powder (Helps the dough rise slightly, creating a light texture.)
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda (Balances acidity and enhances browning in the crust.)
- 1/2 tsp Salt (Enhances overall flavor.)
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt (Can substitute with a non-dairy yogurt for a vegan option.)
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (Use part-skim mozzarella for a lighter choice.)
- 1 cup Strawberries (Can substitute with other berries like raspberries or blueberries.)
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (Substitute with goat cheese for a different flavor profile.)
- 1/4 cup Basil (Fresh is recommended for optimal flavor.)
- 2 tbsp Balsamic Glaze (A balsamic vinegar reduction can be made if unavailable.)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Combine the Greek yogurt with the dry ingredients, stirring until you form a shaggy dough.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and fold it gently until it’s manageable, shaping it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the mozzarella cheese evenly over the crust and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Top with sliced strawberries and crumbled feta cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and crispy.
- Garnish with fresh basil and drizzle balsamic glaze over the top just before serving.
