- 1/2 cup dried butterfly pea flowers
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the dried butterfly pea flowers. Let steep for 15-20 minutes, or until the water has turned a deep purple hue.
- Strain the infused water through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the spent flowers.
- In a pitcher, combine the strained butterfly pea flower water, fresh lemon juice, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add ice cubes to the pitcher and stir to chill the lemonade.
- Pour the Violet Lemonade into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the vibrant, refreshing flavor!
