Description

These Valentine’s Heart Cake Toppers are a fun way to top a homemade or store-bought cake for Valentine’s Day or a Galentine’s party.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Cake (7 inches)
  • White Frosting
  • Bamboo Skewers
  • White Melting Wafers
  • Red Melting Wafers (1)
  • Pink Melting Wafers (1)
  • White Melting Wafers (1)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Icing Bags
  • Light Pink Sanding Sugar
  • Bright Pink Sanding Sugar
  • Red Sanding Sugar
  • Assorted Valentine’s Sprinkles
  • Iridescent Edible Glitter

Instructions

  1. First, place the cake on a cake stand and pipe white frosting around the base and add sprinkles and edible glitter on top.
  2. Next, place the heart printable template under a piece of wax paper, then place the bamboo skewers, cut to your desired size, on top of the wax paper.
  3. Melt the pink candy wafers according to the package instructions, then add coconut oil (a teaspoon at a time) to make it smoother/thinner and easier to work with.
  4. Put the melted wafers into an icing bag and cut off the tip (make it pretty small so it won’t all pour out).
  5. Drizzle the melted wafers over the bamboo stick while creating a heart shape using the heart printable as a template.
  6. Before the candy wafers harden, add sprinkles on top.
  7. Once the candy wafers have hardened, spray them with edible glitter.
  8. Repeat steps 3-7 to create as many hearts as you want with white and red candy wafers.
  9. Once the candy wafers have hardened, carefully remove them from the wax paper and place them in the cake. I placed the smaller hearts on the shorter bamboo sticks in the front and the larger ones on the larger bamboo sticks in the back.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
