Description
Tender Caramelized Pulled Beef Brisket is a melt-in-your-mouth delight perfect for dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds Beef Brisket (Choose a well-marbled cut for tenderness)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Essential for searing)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Enhances flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (Adds warmth and spice)
- 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika (Infuses a rich, smoky flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Depth of flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (Amplifies savory notes)
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder (Optional for heat)
- 2 cups Beef Broth (Opt for low-sodium versions)
- 1 cup Barbecue Sauce (Homemade or low-sugar alternatives)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce (Brings umami depth)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard (Adds a zesty kick)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar (Aids in caramelization)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (Needed for the perfect caramelization)
- 1 large Onion (sliced) (Contributes sweetness)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced) (Robust flavor)
Instructions
- Pat the Brisket Dry: Begin by drying your brisket with paper towels. Then, rub it generously with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder for that flavorful base.
- Sear the Brisket: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for about 2-3 minutes per side until a beautiful brown crust forms.
- Transfer to Cooker: Place the brisket into a slow cooker or an oven preheated to 300°F (150°C). Surround it with beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sliced onions, and minced garlic. Cover and let it cook for 6-8 hours in the slow cooker or 3-4 hours in the oven until fork-tender.
- Let it Rest: After cooking, allow the brisket to rest for a few minutes before shredding. Using two forks, shred the meat and reserve some of the cooking liquid.
- Caramelize the Mix: In a skillet, melt butter and combine the reserved cooking liquid with brown sugar. Stir until you achieve a syrupy sauce.
- Combine & Serve: Mix the shredded brisket with your caramelized sauce and serve on toasted sandwiches, tacos, or over creamy mashed potatoes.
