Description

This Valentine’s Day Breakfast Board is a fun, festive way to make the morning feel extra special without a lot of fuss. Fluffy heart-shaped waffles are paired with flaky croissants, fresh berries, sweet spreads, and a few pretty toppings so everyone can build their own perfect plate.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 mini croissants
  • 46 slices Swiss roll, preferably strawberry vanilla
  • 46 heart-shaped sugar cookies
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup red jam
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Honey
  • Pecans
  • Edible Roses
  • Sugar Flowers/Heart Jellies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the heart-shaped waffle maker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, and vanilla, then pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Add the melted butter and stir again.
  4. Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  5. Arrange the finished heart-shaped waffles on a large serving board.
  6. Add the croissants around the waffles, then place the Swiss roll slices and heart-shaped cookies on the board.
  7. Set out small bowls of cream cheese, Nutella, and red jam.
  8. Scatter berries around the waffles and croissants.
  9. Dust the waffles and croissants with powdered sugar, then drizzle honey over the berries and cream cheese.
  10. Serve right away.
