- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.
- Add the beaten eggs and breadcrumbs to the meat mixture and mix until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Scoop heaping tablespoon-sized portions of the meat mixture and roll them into balls.
- In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Working in batches, carefully add the meatballs to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the fried meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the Spicy Mexican Donkey Balls warm, with your favorite dipping sauces or toppings.
Notes
- These meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
