- 12 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
- In a medium saucepan, melt the chopped dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate, whisking constantly.
- Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until well combined.
- Pour the chocolate silk filling into the pre-baked pie crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is just set. Allow to cool completely before chilling in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Serve chilled, dusted with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder.
