Description
A quick and easy weeknight meal featuring tender chicken and cheesy tortellini coated in a rich, spicy garlic alfredo cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken fillet, diced
- 2 cups cheese tortellini
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
- Push chicken to one side of the skillet. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the empty space and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir the garlic and pepper flakes into the chicken.
- Add butter to the skillet and let it melt. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the parmesan cheese. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until the sauce simmers and thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 3-4 minutes).
- Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the sauce until evenly coated.
- Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
- For the best flavor and texture, use freshly grated parmesan cheese.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
