Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, blend the sourdough starter and warm water until smooth.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (4-6 hours).
  6. Gently punch down the risen dough to release air bubbles.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf, place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Place the loaf in the oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
