- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 ½ cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- few drops food coloring, optional
- sprinkles, optional
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add sour cream and vanilla extract.
- Slowly mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
- Scoop dough into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are just set.
- Cool cookies completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
- Add food coloring if desired and mix until fluffy.
- Frost cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles if using.
