Description
Tender pork chops layered with creamy scalloped potatoes, baked in rich cheese sauce and gravy.
Ingredients

- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 4 cups potatoes (thinly sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or preferred cheese)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sear pork chops in a skillet 2–3 minutes per side; remove and set aside.
- Sauté onions and garlic in butter until soft.
- Stir in flour to make a roux, then gradually whisk in milk and cream to form gravy.
- Layer half of the potatoes in the baking dish and pour half the cream sauce over them.
- Place seared pork chops on top, then layer remaining potatoes and pour remaining sauce.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
- Cover with foil and bake 40 minutes; remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
