- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 cup kale, chopped
- 1 cup pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup pesto sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped kale and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to fit your skillet. It should be slightly larger than the skillet diameter to allow for easy handling.
- Spread the pesto sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Evenly distribute the cooked sausage and kale mixture on top of the pesto. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over everything.
- Heat the skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes to get it warm. Carefully transfer the pizza into the skillet.
- Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pizza cool for a few minutes. Slice into wedges and serve warm.
