Description
Enjoy flavorful shrimp shumai, a steamed delight packed with garlic, ginger, and lemongrass.
Ingredients

- 1 clove Garlic (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger (chopped)
- 1 stalk Lemongrass (chopped)
- 1 pound Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon White Pepper
- 12 pieces Wonton Wrappers
Instructions
- Process aromatics: Place garlic, ginger, and lemongrass in a food processor. Pulse until finely ground.
- Prepare filling: Dice half of the shrimp. Add to the food processor with other filling ingredients and process until smooth. Fold in remaining diced shrimp.
- Fill wrappers: Place about ½ tablespoon of the shrimp mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten edges and seal.
- Assemble shumai: Pinch the sides of the wrapper up to seal the filling and flatten the top. Garnish with green onion.
- Steam shumai: Fill a pot with 2 inches of water, position steamer with lettuce leaves, and arrange shumai. Cover and cook over medium-high heat.
- Cook until done: Steam for 8-10 minutes until shrimp are cooked and wrappers are tender.
- Serve & enjoy: Serve hot with ponzu or soy sauce and sesame oil for dipping.
