Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium carrots diced
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce optional
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Finely chop onion, garlic, and carrots, and prepare all ingredients before cooking.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic and cook briefly.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  5. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  6. Add carrots and cook for a few minutes until slightly softened.
  7. Stir in tomato paste and cook briefly to enhance flavor.
  8. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  9. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  10. Gradually add beef stock while stirring to avoid lumps.
  11. Simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes until thickened.
  12. Add peas and cook for a few more minutes.
  13. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with your preferred side.
