- 4 sheets puff pastry
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets, place on a baking sheet, and bake until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar until steaming.
- In a bowl, mix egg yolks, flour, and vanilla, then add to the milk mixture and cook until thickened.
- Let the cream cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and fold into the custard.
- Assemble the cake by layering puff pastry and cream mixture, finishing with a layer of pastry on top.
- Chill the cake for at least 4 hours before serving.
