Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla, and beat until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-egg mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Stir in the red food coloring, then fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Slightly flatten if desired.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
