Description

These breadsticks combine the savory goodness of a Philly cheesesteak with a cheesy, warm bread exterior, making them a delightful snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground beef (Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.)
  • 1 cup Cheese (mozzarella or provolone, shredded) (Choose your preferred cheese for filling.)
  • 1/2 cup Bell peppers (diced) (Any color of bell pepper can be used.)
  • 1/2 cup Onion (diced) (Yellow or white onion works best.)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 package Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade) (Use your favorite dough type.)
  • 1 egg Beaten for egg wash (This will give the breadsticks a golden color.)
  • Jalapeños, herbs (Feel free to add your choice of toppings.)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add in the diced bell peppers and onions, sauté until tender (about 5 minutes).
  3. Season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, stirring well to combine.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and add shredded cheese to the beef mixture. Stir until melted.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spoon the beef and cheese mixture onto the center of the dough, leaving space along the edges.
  7. Fold each side of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal. Cut into individual sticks.
  8. Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush lightly with beaten egg.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let them cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch.
