These banana bread chocolate chip cookies are soft, bakery-style treats packed with ripe banana flavor and melty chocolate chips.

- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a small bowl until mostly smooth.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy.
- Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the cookies apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
