Savory Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles – Quick, Bold & Comforting

- 8 ounces noodles (spaghetti or lo mein) (225 g)
- 1 pound ground beef (450 g)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (80 ml)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (50 g)
- 1/2 cup beef broth (120 ml)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well until evenly coated with the sauce.
- Sprinkle sliced green onions on top and serve warm.
