Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. ground breakfast sausage
- Salt and pepper
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp. softened butter
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 ⅞ tbsp. melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup
- ½ tsp. salt
- 6 slices crispy bacon
- 4 slices American cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, gently massage the ground breakfast sausage until well combined. Form the mixture into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper for flavor.
- Heat your grill pan over medium heat and cook the sausage patties for about 2-3 minutes on each side until nicely browned.
- In a medium-sized bowl, crack the 6 eggs and whisk together. Pour in the whole milk and continue whisking until well combined.
- Coat a large pan with softened butter. Pour in a quarter of the egg mixture and cook over low heat until set. Flip and cook for another minute.
- Carefully fold the omelette into thirds, then shape it into a square. Repeat with the remaining egg mixture to make 4 omelettes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, one egg, melted butter, and maple syrup, stirring until smooth.
- Heat a non-stick pan with butter. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of pancake batter onto the pan and cook until bubbles form. Flip and cook for another minute, repeating until you have 8 pancakes.
- Fry the bacon in a separate pan until crispy.
- Assemble your McGriddles starting with one pancake, adding a slice of cheese, sausage patty, omelette, and crispy bacon, then top with another pancake.
- Repeat to create a total of 4 McGriddles. Drizzle with maple syrup before serving if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh sausage for better flavor.
- Farm-fresh eggs enhance the taste of the omelette.
