  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, steep the Earl Grey tea leaves in warm milk for about 10 minutes, then strain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and the strained milk.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  8. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
