Description

This French Dip Crescents recipe is the perfect combination of flaky, buttery pastry and savory roast beef, all served with a rich au jus for dipping.


Ingredients

  • 225 g 8 oz deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (cut in halves)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried parsley
  • 1 cup 240 ml beef broth
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven.
  2. Heat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
  5. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each triangle if using.
  6. Place ½ slice provolone cheese on each triangle.
  7. Add a portion of roast beef on top of the cheese.
  8. Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle toward the tip.
  9. Place on the baking sheet, tip side down.
  10. Mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, parsley.
  11. Brush mixture over each crescent.
  12. Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and flaky.
  13. In a small saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, pepper.
  14. Heat until warm (do not boil).
  15. Serve crescents warm with au jus dip on the side.
