  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 810 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or heavy cream)
  • 1 egg yolk (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
  • 23 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread: If using a round loaf, make 6-8 deep cuts around the bread, radiating from the center, without cutting all the way through. For individual buns, make 4 deep cuts in a cross shape on top of each bun.
  2. Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy, then transfer to a piping bag.
  3. Fill the Bread: Open each cut in the bread and pipe the cream cheese filling generously into each crevice.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic, milk, egg yolk, honey, and chopped parsley. Whisk until well combined.
  5. Assemble and Glaze: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip or spoon the garlic butter glaze over the filled bread, ensuring all surfaces are coated.
  6. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
