- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the yeast mixture; gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic; let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; add raisins or nuts if using.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 16×24 inches) and brush with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long edge and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, then mix in milk to desired consistency.
- Let rolls cool for 10 minutes before frosting generously with cream cheese frosting.
