Description

  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed)

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the yeast mixture; gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic; let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
  4. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; add raisins or nuts if using.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 16×24 inches) and brush with melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long edge and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, then mix in milk to desired consistency.
