- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Garlic powder to taste
- Olive oil
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Crusty French or Italian bread (or whole wheat/gluten-free if preferred)
- Garlic powder for brushing
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Additional Parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil and cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, stirring continuously.
- Once it starts to simmer, slowly whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until it’s smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and then remove from heat.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice your bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
- Brush the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle with a little garlic powder.
- Spread a generous layer of the Alfredo sauce over the cut sides of the bread.
- Lay the sliced chicken evenly on top, followed by a generous handful of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Place the assembled bread in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For a golden finish, broil it for an additional 1-2 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- Once out of the oven, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and a bit more Parmesan if you like.
- Slice into pieces and serve warm.
