Delightful Irish Tea Cake

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve the Irish Tea Cake warm or at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy!
