Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 cup fresh pear leaves
  • 4 cups water
  • ½ cup pear juice
  • 12 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh pear slices for garnish
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and fresh pear leaves to the boiling water and stir gently.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and steep for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher.
  6. Stir in the pear juice, honey or agave syrup, and vanilla extract if using.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.
  8. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
  9. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with fresh pear slices.
