Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, milk, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Press the beef mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour the tomato mixture evenly over the beef layer.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let stand for a few minutes before serving. This hearty Parmesan Italian beef is delicious.

  • For an extra cheesy bake, add another 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
