- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, milk, and egg. Mix well.
- Press the beef mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Pour the tomato mixture evenly over the beef layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving. This hearty Parmesan Italian beef is delicious.
Notes
- For an extra cheesy bake, add another 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Serve with a side salad or crusty bread.
