Ingredients

  • 1416 oz Firm or extra-firm tofu
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 45 cloves Fresh garlic
  • 4 stalks Scallions
  • 1 large bunch Fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Optional lime juice
  • ¼ tsp Optional crushed red pepper
  • 24 tbsp Water or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Cut your tofu into cubes and sear them in a hot pan with sesame oil until golden-brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside some for blending later.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped scallions to the hot pan. Stir quickly to prevent burning; cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Blend fresh cilantro with some of the seared tofu, sesame oil, seasonings, and a splash of water or broth until smooth.
  4. Pour the cilantro sauce over the seared tofu in the pan. Toss everything to coat and cook for another 1-2 minutes until warmed through.
