  • 8 ounces whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse long grain white rice under cool running water until water runs clear. Melt unsalted butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Add rinsed and drained rice to the saucepan with garlic-infused butter. Toast rice for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until edges become slightly translucent.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and whole milk. Add salt and pepper. Stir to combine and bring mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Avoid lifting the lid during this time.
  5. Remove from heat, keep covered, and let steam for 5 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork, then stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
