Garlic Parmesan Rice Recipe- Easy Flavorful Side Dish

- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces chicken broth
- 8 ounces whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Rinse long grain white rice under cool running water until water runs clear. Melt unsalted butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Add rinsed and drained rice to the saucepan with garlic-infused butter. Toast rice for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until edges become slightly translucent.
- Pour in chicken broth and whole milk. Add salt and pepper. Stir to combine and bring mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Avoid lifting the lid during this time.
- Remove from heat, keep covered, and let steam for 5 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork, then stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
