- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast chopped pecans for 6–8 minutes until fragrant. Cool completely.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the toasted pecans gently without overmixing.
- Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon milk or cream. Adjust thickness with more milk if needed.
- Drizzle or spread glaze over completely cooled cookies. Let set for 15 minutes before serving.

- You can use walnuts instead of pecans if preferred.
