Ingredients

  • 12 to 15 frozen potstickers
  • 4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 to 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/2 cup spinach or bok choy leaves (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil or red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Warm sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Pour in the broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add frozen potstickers and cook according to package instructions, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. If using mushrooms, spinach, or bok choy, add during the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar if desired, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Ladle soup into bowls, garnish with green onions and chili oil or red pepper flakes.
