- 3 pieces ripe bananas (mashed)
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- a pinch salt
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup walnuts or pecans (chopped)
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth and stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt, then add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour, stirring until just incorporated.
- If using, fold in the walnuts or chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Slice and enjoy your delicious banana bread warm or at room temperature.
